Chronology of cameras Ricoh

The Ricohflex Mod B is clearly a copy of the Richter Reflecta
The Ricoh historic site dates it from 1942.
Although it is mainly made of pressed steel, this is a true reflex camera, the focusing command acts simultaneously on both optical and a focusing screen provides the control.
This particular copy takes the shutter plate of the vest Olympice with just four exposure time from 1/25 to 1/150 th + B and T.
Riken becomming Ricoh in the sixties had acquired in 1937 the Asahi Bussan company who made the Olympics.
The film advance is by the knurled knob and monitoring of view numbers by the windows on the back, it does not benefit from protection against double exposures.
It is interesting to note that this copy does not have a specific window to the 6x6 numbering and you have to juggle with odd and even numbers across the different windows to align 12  views with the 6x9 numbering that has only 8 digits.
In 1942 there were already 6x6 numbering across the center of 120 films and it is surprising that this archaic system has been adopted..
Some other Ricohflex B may be later built have only one window in the center, adapted to the numbering 6x6.
